Friday Reads: Hyperbole and a Half

Years ago, a friend sent me a link to the blog Hyperbole and a Half. She specifically wanted me to check out The God of Cake, because I’m pretty dessert-obsessed so she thought I could relate. I laughed my ass off when I read it, and I’ve since sent that post to many people. But for some reason it has taken me years to pick up Allie Brosh’s book, Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened. Bill Gates called it a “funny, brutally honest memoir”, and that’s exactly how I’d describe it. I checked her blog for recent posts but it looks like the last time she posted anything was in 2013, which is such a shame. I’m late to the party on this one. The lights have been turned on, the music has been turned off, and the only thing left to eat are the chip crumbs at the bottom of the bowl.
