Earlier this year I spotted The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living on Bon Appétit’s list of 8 New Food Novels to Read this Year. I’m a sucker for novels about cooking and food, especially dessert. I can’t help it, I love the descriptions (when they’re done well), which probably explains why I love reading cookbooks. I knew I was in good hands with this book since author Louise Miller is also a pastry chef. The only negative thing I’ll say about this book is that it makes me hungry and, unless you don’t like pie, cookies, or anything sweet, it will likely do the same for you. You’ve been warned.
