I was doing some research for the historical novel I’d like to write when I came across the story of a woman who really intrigued me. The Shocking Miss Pilgrim: A Writer in Early Hollywood is Frederica Sagor Maas’s memoir from her years working in Hollywood as a writer. Her story is fascinating and even though I’m not quite sure how it fits in with what I’m thinking of writing, I’m hoping that by the time I finish reading it I’ll figure it out. And if not it doesn’t really matter because Freddie was a great writer and reading her bio is a pleasure.
