Friday Reads: The Signature of All Things

I admit to being one of those people who completely dismissed Elizabeth Gilbert as a writer.  Even though I enjoyed reading Eat, Pray, Love, I got a little sick of hearing about her. Then the movie came out and I was officially over it.
But I’m glad I got over that because The Signature of All Things is a wonderful book, and Elizabeth Gilbert is a wonderful writer. Lesson learned.

What are you reading?

Have you ever watcher her Ted Talk? I used to show it to my students in Buenos Aires all the time. http://www.ted.com/talks/elizabeth_gilbert_on_genius.html

I hated the Eat, Pray, Love movie. Well, maybe ‘hated’ is too strong a word but I definitely strongly disliked it! I didn’t even get through the whole book but perhaps I was being too judgemental. However I’ve heard that The Signature of All Things is actually quite good. What did you like about it?

Grace, I really didn’t like the movie either. But maybe give the book another chance!
As for The Signature of All Things, I really like Gilbert’s writing style and the pacing of the book is great, considering it spans over many years and there are lots of characters. I also just really like the story!

I really enjoyed that one, since it’s full of interesting facts and it is a kind of easygoing article.
I spent just a few minutes studying, and due to well-structured text, I
    know it entirely. Thanks!
