Pulp! The Classics is a new imprint that gives the nation’s favourite classic novels original retro covers in a pulp fiction style – with a dash of wry humour. Redesigned and reset, using the original unabridged text from some of the best writers that have ever lived, Pulp! The Classics promises readers their favourite books with stunning and highly original jackets.
I saw this Pulp! edition of Jane Austen’s classic novel displayed on a table with a bunch of other books. I have no idea what those other books were because I only looked at this one. Pride & Prejudice is 200 years old, but you’d never know it from this cover. I’m thinking of updating my bookshelf with a few others from this series. Maybe the creepy version of The Hound of The Baskervilles or the somewhat ridiculous but also fantastic The Picture of Dorian Gray (below).
I can see how some people might hate these covers though. Perhaps they are a bit too kitschy? What do you think?
