“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”
– Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina
I don’t know what spring looks like where you live, but here in Toronto it looks more like this sad snowman than like the flowers in bloom that are all over Instagram these days. This weather doesn’t exactly inspire thoughts of spring rejuvenation, but you’d be surprised how even slightly warmer days and a lack of snow on the ground can perk a Canadian girl up. Soon we’ll all be on patios, complaining about the heat. I can’t wait.
I also can’t wait to spend more time reading outside. Time to push aside my fleece blankets and wool socks and step out into the warm(ish) spring air, armed with nothing but a book and a smile. Maybe a coffee. Here are some of the books I’m looking forward to reading in the next few months.
The Life and Death of Sophie Stark
by Anna North
by Mary Kubica
The Life We Bury
(I mean, have you read her book You? I’m reading it now and I’m slightly obsessed. New author crush!)
Fates and Furies
Cynthia D’Aprix Sweene
Under the Influence
