According to Goodreads, I read a total of 90 books in 2014 (here they are!). I started the year very strong with The Goldfinch, and I never did manage to find another book that came close. There were many amazing books though, and I hope next year will be full of even more. In the meantime, here are some of my favourite 2014 reads:
An Everlasting Meal: Cooking with Economy and Grace by Tamar Adler
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
(If you also LOVED this book, check out some writing advice from Donna Tartt.)
Labor Day by Joyce Maynard
(I didn’t love the film version but the author thought it was pretty great.)
The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan
Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann
(Loved the book, didn’t love the movie.)
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
(Should I even be reading YA fiction?)
Books! by Murray McCain and John Alcorn
(A beautiful book and a great gift idea for both kids and adults.)
Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child by Bob Spitz
Happy New Year, everyone!
I hope your 2015 is full of books and plenty of time to read them.
