I can’t remember a December that I haven’t watched A Christmas Story. But this year, in addition to my annual viewing of this holiday classic, I decided to read the book that it was based on.
I had no idea Jean Shepherd was such a fantastic writer. Not only is A Christmas Story based on his own hilarious semi-autobiographical short stories, but he also narrated the movie adaptation and co-wrote the script. Whether you’ve seen the movie or not, I triple-dog dare you to read the book this holiday season.
