I’ve been a big fan of Kyo Maclear’s writing since I first read her children’s book Virginia Wolf. I also love Spork, Julia, Child, and The Specific Ocean. I consistently buy these books for kids and their parents always thank me because they are such a pleasure to read. So when I heard that Maclear was coming out with a work of non-fiction about creativity entitled Birds Art Life: A Year of Observation, I knew I had to read it. She is such an amazing writer and I’m so in love with this book. I’m reading a copy from the library but I’m going to have to buy myself a copy because I know I’ll want to refer back to it again. It definitely deserves a spot on my bookshelf.
