Breakfast is by far my favourite meal of the day. I wake up starving and can’t wait to sit down and eat something, accompanied by a much-needed cup (or two) of coffee. I would have a big Sunday brunch every weekend if I could, and I’ve been known to have breakfast for dinner on occasion. My mother used to make us crepes for dinner on Sundays after we’d had a particularly big lunch, and she would occasionally whip up a delicious potato omelette for dinner on Friday, complete with buttered toast and maybe even a little jam. So in other words, it should come as no surprise that I am completely riveted by the book Breakfast: A History by Heather Arndt Anderson. It’s equal parts education and entertainment. I highly recommend it, especially if you love cereal like I do.
