I’m in between library books right now so I walked over to my shelf to find a short book I could read before a couple new ones arrive at my local TPL branch. I was going to reread something, which led me to Salinger as it often does. But then I realized that I have never actually read Franny and Zooey, so the decision pretty much made itself. The Guardian has just chosen Franny and Zooey for its July Reading Group, and they’ve previously deemed it as A Book for the Beach, so I’m happy with how this timing has worked out. Although it makes me sad that this is the last time I’ll ever get to read something “new” from Salinger.
What are you reading?
