I had a hard time getting my hands on a copy of Jackson Pollock: An American Saga by Steven Naifeh and Gregory White Smith, which is surprising considering it won the Pulitzer in 1991. You’d think this award-winning biography of one of the world’s most famous artists would be readily available everywhere.
After reading the Van Gogh bio by the same authors, I knew this 900-page bio would be worth my time. I’m only 150 pages in and Pollock is only just discovering art, so I have a long way to go. But I’ve learned a lot already and I’m looking forward to reading what comes next.
