I’ve been reading John Truby’s The Anatomy of Story: 22 Steps to Becoming a Master Storyteller on and off for months now. It’s one of those books that is so jam-packed with useful information that you basically have to fold down or highlight every single page. I can see why it gets such good reviews, from both novel writers and screenwriters. I really like how he breaks down examples from specific books and movies, I find that really helpful (especially when you know the book/movie really well). This book has definitely given me many things to think about while writing my novel, which is still in the very early stages.
