Even when I read the back blurb on Amy E. Reichert’s book The Coincidence of Coconut Cake, I knew it might be a little too rom-com for me. But I decided to read it anyway because I’m a sucker for books that feature food, especially when that food involves coconut. Plus, I liked the fact that it’s set in Milwaukee, because I don’t think I’ve ever read a book set in that city. And you know what? This book kind of makes me want to go there. It also makes me want to bake cake, but that was definitely to be expected.
