I’ve only been to Chicago a couple of times but each time I go I like it even more. The Art Institute. Millennium Park. Wrigley Field. Not to mention the architecture, music, and food (deep dish!). But one of the things I like most about Chicago is its history. I’m a little obsessed with Chicago’s criminal past (Capone, Dillinger), and I’ve always wanted to learn more about serial killer H.H.Holmes. So I started reading Erik Larson’s The Devil in the White City this week, which is about the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago and the H.H.Holmes murders that were committed in the city around that same time. Fascinating and incredibly creepy.
