I’ve been having a hard time getting into fiction these days so I’m really hoping that The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan can help pull me out of my slump. Judging from what I’ve read so far, it’s a light read, charming and whimsical. One of those books you can just sit and read for a long time without even thinking about it. I love the idea behind this book, that objects in our lives can hold such meaning, and that someone out there is rescuing lost objects and writing stories about them. A good companion to bring along for a day at the park or cottage. It feels a tad predictable and perhaps a little sweet, but sometimes that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
