Friday Reads: The Lone Pilgrim

Posted by

I first fell in love with Laurie Colwin’s writing when I read her book Home Cooking: A Writer in the Kitchen about a year ago. When I read the follow-up, More Home Cooking: A Writer Returns to the Kitchen, I fell in love a little more and vowed to read every word Colwin ever wrote. This week I’ve started her collection of stories called The Lone Pilgrim. I think I’m going to take my time getting through all her novels and her other collections, though, because Laurie Colwin died of a heart attack in 1992 (only 48 years old) so we won’t ever get anything new from her again. She was an incredible writer and she inspires me to not only write better but also live better.
