“Change might not be fast and it isn’t always easy. But with time and effort, almost any habit can be reshaped.”
― Charles Duhigg, The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business
Not exactly a fun summertime read, I know. But The Power of Habit is an interesting book that definitely makes you think about your daily habits and rituals. I particularly enjoyed the section on willpower. Seeing it as more of a muscle that gets tired and less like just a straigh-up skill actually makes it easier to understand why I can summon up the energy to work out on some evenings while on others the idea of going to the gym after a day at the office makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry. With a cookie. I’m not sure how I’ll use all the info I’ve learned in this book yet but I feel like it might come into play at some point in my life.
