How is it even possible that Gabrielle Zevin’s The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry came out almost two years ago and I’m only just hearing about it now? You mean to tell me that no one I know read this book and felt the need to recommend it to me and everyone they know? As unbelievable as that sounds, I think that’s exactly what happened. I stumbled across a glowing review for this book and decided I had to read it. It’s a book about books. About reading them and selling them, and about what they mean to us. I don’t think you have to love books to love this particular book, but if you do you’re in for a real treat. It’s charming and beautiful, and as NPR put it, “a love letter to the joys of reading.”
What are you reading?
