Let me be clear: I love The Great Gatsby. However, I am getting a little tired of Gatsby-inspired EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE. I guess I can blame Baz Luhrmann for that. But despite my Gatsby fatigue, I started reading Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler. So far I’m loving Fowler’s Zelda character, and I’m trying not to get caught up in comparing this historical fiction to the real F. Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald story I read about in Zelda: A Biography by Nancy Milford. If you find yourself wanting to understand Zelda a bit more after reading Fowler’s book, pick up Milford’s amazing bio. Even if you aren’t interested in Zelda, you will be after reading her incredible life story.
