Crete is known for many things. Olives, honey, beaches. It’s also known as being the birthplace of writer Nikos Kazantsakis. My dad is a proud Cretan man so he loves Kazantsakis and has always wanted me to read his books. As soon as we decided to visit Crete this year, I knew the books I’d be bringing along. I’m starting my trip off with a classic that most people have heard of: Zorba the Greek.
