Literary Halloween Costumes

Posted by

While I love Halloween for giving me an excuse to indulge in a ridiculous amount of candy and chocolate, I haven’t loved the dressing up part since I was a kid.
After avoiding the whole costume thing for several years, this year I’m going to a Halloween party as Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I’ll take any opportunity to wear a pretty dress and some pearls.

When I was researching the look I came across some other amazing literary costume ideas. Here are a few:

Alex from A Clockwork Orange
Creepy character, easy costume.

Tyler Durden from Fight Club
Don’t forget the pink soap.

Alice from Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass
I was all set to do this one but had a hard time finding a non “sexy” Alice costume.

Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz
I have the perfect red shoes for this. Seriously.

Maybe this year will resurrect my love for Halloween. Or maybe I’ll skip the party and just sit around in my dress eating candy.
