The search for the perfect notebook

Posted by

This summer, I finally went to Italy. It had been a dream of mine for as long as I could remember. Aside from the long list of places I wanted to see, and the vast array gelato flavours I wanted to try, I always knew that I would come home with just one souvenir: a leather notebook.

I’ve always wanted the perfect notebook. Something that I could have forever, that I could take with me everywhere, and that would look better and better as it got older. Since Florence is known for its leather, I knew that it would be the place that I would find my notebook.

I scoured the city every day, going into store after store. You might think it’s easy to find a leather notebook in a city such as Florence, but I wanted one that I could refill, which is much harder to find. I was going to buy one from a store called Scriptorium, but they didn’t have exactly what I was looking for. After a few days I finally found what I wanted at a store called Signum. The notebook was made of the most amazing soft leather, it was a gorgeous brown colour, and it was refillable. It also wasn’t cheap, but it was worth it. In the end, I came home from Italy with a belly full of gelato, a deeper appreciation for pizza, and that perfect notebook I had always wanted.
