Winter isn’t always pretty. It’s not always about curling up under a blanket or reading by the fire. It doesn’t always include mugs of hot cocoa or gingerbread cookies fresh from the oven. Sometimes winter is awful. Sometimes it’s so cold that you don’t want to go outside, and it’s so dark that you lose track of what time it is and start getting ready for bed at like four in the afternoon. That’s why I’m more thankful for books in the winter than at any other time in the year. They distract me from the snow outside (not a fan) and provide me with all the entertainment I need for those days when I just can’t bring myself to go anywhere or do anything. Here are some of the books I’ll be counting on to keep me warm over the next few months.
